ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) division merges esteemed wholesale coverage with top-tier product, financing, and advisory proficiency within a unified team, allowing us to optimally serve our clientele. Our cross-functional, product-agnostic coverage teams extend across all sectors to promote the bank's offerings to clients worldwide, while simultaneously delivering exceptional capital raising, financing, and advisory capabilities.
What will your DAILY TASKS involve?
- Crafting high-quality credit applications and conducting annual evaluations of corporate clients to gauge their creditworthiness, recommending suitable credit limits, terms, and conditions. This encompasses financial statement analysis (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow), an assessment of the client's strategic direction, business risks, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Developing financial forecasts and assessing debt repayment capacity while ensuring adherence to SGS Credit Policies.
- Suggesting and revising Obligor Risk Ratings.
- Overseeing compliance with covenants.
- Reviewing all pertinent legal documentation (e.g., credit agreements, guarantees, ISDA, CSA) and recommending modifications as necessary to align with SGS policies.
- Collaborating with other Credit Portfolio Management teams across various regions, including the US, Europe, and Asia, as well as business lines, bankers, legal & compliance, operations, and the Risk department.
Required Profile
Skills and Qualifications:
- Exceptional financial analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in evaluating credit terms and conditions, including financial covenants, security, and collateral.
- In-depth understanding of commercial and investment banking products.
- Ability to function effectively within a team, including engaging with teams located in diverse regions (US, India, Europe).
- Strong writing skills, particularly in assessing and summarizing financial transactions (credit requests, covenant waivers, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting, legal, and regulatory issues affecting relevant sectors.
- Capability to investigate, research, and synthesize data to draw appropriate conclusions regarding observed results.
- Competence in analyzing and evaluating counterparty risk and financial health using both quantitative and qualitative data.
Technical Skills
- Solid grasp of finance and accounting principles.
- Experience in preparing financial projections under various scenarios.
- Proficiency in using Word for written analysis and Excel for spreadsheet analysis.
- Familiarity with capital markets, traded products, and committed financing facilities.
Previous Work Experience
- 8-10 years of experience as a credit analyst in a corporate and investment banking environment or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Language Proficiency:
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is essential as collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States will be frequent.
