About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Software Development Director to lead our digital technology team at Banque Nationale du Canada. As a key member of our IT sector, you will be responsible for managing a team of 8 information technology specialists and contributing to the development of our digital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Coach and contribute to the development of team members at different levels of seniority, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Project Delivery: Be responsible for team leadership and delivery of technology projects, maintenance, evolutions, and changes, ensuring timely and successful project outcomes.
  • Strategic Vision: Contribute to the definition of the team's technological strategic vision, participating in the team's continuous improvement and transformation plans.
  • Stakeholder Management: Share information with stakeholders regarding the progress of the initiative and the status of the solution, influencing them effectively to achieve the business vision.
  • Value Delivery: Cut and sequence a target vision to maximize value delivery, taking into account constraints and interdependencies with other projects or sectors.
About the Team

Our IT team is comprised of over 2,300 specialists who work in an agile, proactive, and collaborative manner to seize opportunities, stay on the cutting edge of technology, and continuously improve processes. As a member of our team, you will be part of the delivery of banking and digital services and report to the Senior Digital Director.

Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a development team, either as a team lead or director.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of software engineering best practices and Java, as well as technical problem-solving and coaching skills.
  • Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of the digital domain and security requirements specific to the front end.
