Job Title: Cost Accountant

Teledyne Digital Imaging, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Waterloo. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for implementing cost standards, monitoring unit cost variance, and preparing revenue, COGS, and margin analysis reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead
  • Monitor unit cost variance by reviewing bi-weekly purchase price variance reports
  • Prepare revenue, COGS, and margin analysis reports
  • Reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Update bookings and backlog reports
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis of manufacturing cost variances
  • Review, analyze, and update standard costs
  • Coordinate/documentation of quarterly obsolescence and reserve reviews
  • Assist with yearly inventory counts
  • Warranty reserve analysis and review
  • Quarterly audit requirements and reports
  • Assist in SOX documentation pertaining to operations
  • Heavily involved in process improvement initiatives
  • Support various cost accounting special projects
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of cost accounting with inventory experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient skills in Excel and ERP systems
  • CPA or equivalent designation
  • Self-starter who is efficient and well-organized
  • Detail-oriented
  • SAP experience an asset
