Job Title: Employment and Training Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employment and Training Counsellor to join our team at the MMF Métis Youth. As a key member of our Métis Employment & Training Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the career development and employment needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their employment needs and eligibility for our programs and services;
  • Develop and implement personalized employment and training plans to meet the unique needs of each client;
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout their employment and training journey;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community resource programs, training institutions, and other government agencies to ensure access to relevant services and resources;
  • Stay up-to-date with labor market trends and job postings to provide clients with the most relevant and effective job search strategies.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in the Social Sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of two years of experience in employment/career counseling;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse client groups;
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized case management systems;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality assurance and client satisfaction.
