About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter - Concrete Forming Specialist to join our team at Khalsa Forming Inc. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Layout and Measurement: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Material Preparation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to meet project requirements.
  • Construction and Installation: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a strong and stable structure.
  • Site Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Training and Supervision: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma required; 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Work Environment: Willing to work at heights, in confined spaces, in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Work Setting: Construction sites, various locations, commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential settings.
  • Transportation and Travel: Willing to travel regularly for work assignments.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, overtime required, physically demanding, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
