Hydro One Networks Inc is a prominent player in the environmental services sector, committed to delivering eco-friendly solutions for infrastructure initiatives. We are currently in search of a qualified professional to fulfill the role of Environmental Field Planner/Construction Oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of the Northern Region for Environmental Services - Strategic Projects, the selected candidate will:

  • Prioritize safety above all else.
  • Provide essential environmental guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Responsibilities will encompass managing all facets of environmental oversight, including:
    • Hiring and overseeing environmental consultants.
    • Collaborating with Indigenous communities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
    • Conducting environmental assessments of construction operations.
  • Exhibit expertise in diverse environmental disciplines relevant to infrastructure projects.
  • Obtain necessary environmental studies and assess proposals.
  • Ensure precision and proper application of technical information.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of environmental management strategies.
  • Utilize a strategic approach in negotiations with stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about innovative practices in environmental management.
  • Advise project and asset managers on environmental considerations.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to both internal and external audiences.
  • Adhere consistently to internal protocols and practices.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A four-year university degree in environmental studies or a related discipline.
  • More than six years of pertinent experience in the environmental sector.
  • A solid understanding of environmental challenges and legislative frameworks.
  • Experience with environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Proficient technical writing and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and quickly adapt to new tasks.
