Job Title: English Language Learner Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learner Teacher to join our team at North Peace Secondary School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and social development of our students.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language Learner students at the secondary level, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide individualized support to students as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach English Language Learner students at the secondary level, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide individualized support to students as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices.
Requirements:
  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for).
  • Qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach the identified subjects at the secondary level.
  • Experience with universal design and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, collaboration, and organization skills.
  • Experience/training/knowledge of Social Emotional Learning.
