Job Summary

The Fleet Support/Transition Engineer is a key member of the IMP Group International Inc. team, responsible for providing technical support to the CH149 Cormorant fleet. This role involves evaluating and implementing technical initiatives to ensure the fleet's airworthiness and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Development and Review of Inspection Packages
    • Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop inspection packages for aircraft parts and components.
    • Review and evaluate aircraft maintenance programs and technical documentation to ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations.
  • Technical Initiative Evaluation and Implementation
    • Evaluate technical issues raised by forums, including configuration differences between aircraft fleets and technical or product improvement initiatives.
    • Identify options and conduct analysis to address these issues.
  • Corrective Action and Monitoring
    • Implement and monitor corrective action on Service Difficulty Reporting, Special Inspections, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives.
    • Monitor Flight Safety Occurrences and track through ATO processes.
  • Technical Advice and Coordination
    • Provide technical advice to Main Operating Bases (MOBs) on modifications.
    • Coordinate the delivery of technical advice to MOBs on modifications.
  • Design Change Tracking and Compliance
    • Track design changes on CH149 aircraft from OEM Product Improvement Leaflets, Change Collectors, and Service Bulletins.
    • Ensure fleet compliance tracking and closure.
  • Effective Communication and Liaison
    • Act as liaison on technical matters with representatives from MOBs, Department of National Defense, aircraft and component OEMs, other Design Support Network elements, and Design Authorities.
    • Conduct effective communications on technical matters.
  • Process Improvement and Efficiency
    • Deploy initiatives for general process improvements and increase efficiencies for the maintenance program.
    • Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, and technical directions.
  • Configuration Management and Data Management
    • Provide support to the configuration management and data management activities of the department.
  • Airworthiness Functions
    • Perform airworthiness functions as a recognized Design Engineer or Design Technologist when authorized.
Requirements
  • Education
    • B.Eng. or B.Sc. (Eng.), or CET (Diploma in Engineering Technology), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience
    • Two (2) or more years of engineering experience is desirable.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Knowledge of rotary wing aircraft structures and mechanical systems is an asset.
    • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations and standards, and military aircraft modification processes is an asset.
    • Experience in an aircraft engineering environment is an asset.
    • Possess clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Good project management skills.
    • Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with people at all levels, both within the organization and those in outside agencies.
    • Must possess good self-discipline with an ability to work independently when required.
    • Must possess an ability to logically assimilate information and identify related causal factors, as well as to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Clearance and Security
    • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC-Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
