Our program not only addresses academic challenges but also enhances cognitive abilities, emphasizing the importance of teaching students effective learning strategies.

Position Overview:

At Oxford Learning Centres, Inc., we focus on helping students enhance their academic and study skills within a small group framework. Our classes are designed to maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio, ensuring personalized attention. High school educators will facilitate understanding of the curriculum while providing support with school assignments, all while imparting essential learning techniques in an engaging manner. You will have the autonomy to adapt your teaching methods to suit each student’s needs, while adhering to our established educational philosophies (training will be provided).

Your responsibilities will include tracking the topics covered and cognitive skills developed, monitoring student progress, and ensuring that educational programming is appropriately paced throughout your shift—there is no expectation to take work home.

Classes are scheduled during after-school hours, typically from late afternoon to evening, with additional availability on weekends. Flexibility in scheduling is encouraged based on educator availability.

  • Be able to commute reliably for in-person sessions
  • Provide a clear background check prior to working with students

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring high school mathematics and/or science
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple students effectively
  • Capability to facilitate understanding of various mathematical concepts
  • Maintain professionalism and composure at all times

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching certification in Ontario
  • Proficiency in French
  • Experience with elementary education
