Construction Estimating Trainee

PCL Construction is seeking a skilled Solar Estimating Student to join our team in Oakville, Ontario. As a Solar Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by performing quantity surveys, reviewing estimating manuals, and developing relationships with subcontractors.
Responsibilities- Utilize PCL's estimating manuals, systems, and forms to perform quantity surveys and provide accurate quantities to the purchasing department.
- Review quantity survey assignments with the lead estimator or Chief Estimator to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform general subtrade solicitation duties, including bid document control and bid day assignments.
- Develop relationships with subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting, will be required.
