POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing a strategic Marketing and Communications framework that aligns with the university's branding and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Oversees the formulation and implementation of a holistic Marketing and Communications strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional branding and strategic goals.
  2. Develops and sustains departmental marketing initiatives, communication strategies, and events aimed at engaging key stakeholders, including students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners.
  3. Facilitates collaboration with various stakeholders to address diverse marketing and communication requirements while adhering to established brand guidelines.
  4. Assists in the recruitment and selection of individuals to be featured in promotional materials and communications.
  5. Contributes to the design, development, and execution of marketing campaigns, including newsletters and social media outreach, ensuring compliance with project timelines and standards.
  6. Monitors and evaluates digital marketing performance, providing insights for optimization across platforms such as social media, newsletters, and websites.
  7. Manages updates to the departmental website, ensuring timely and relevant content is maintained.
  8. Establishes and maintains a repository for marketing and communication resources related to recurring events and projects.
  9. Creates and refreshes promotional materials, including posters, digital signage, and other visual communications.
  10. Maintains financial oversight of marketing and communications projects.
  11. Coordinates photography initiatives, producing high-quality images for various departmental needs.
  12. Manages audiovisual equipment, including procurement of new tools as necessary.
  13. Prepares comprehensive reports, ensuring all submissions meet established deadlines.
  14. Supervises the activities of student ambassadors, fostering engagement and representation.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Journalism, Arts, or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a higher education or similar environment, including:

  • Proficiency in content creation, editing, and design for both print and digital platforms.
  • Experience in managing internal and external communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Proven track record in event planning and execution.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to manage complex workloads and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Expertise in creating and designing content for various publications.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and desktop publishing software.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, including WordPress, and basic HTML.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and SEO best practices.
  • Knowledge of current trends in marketing and communications, including social media and multimedia production.
  • Ability to navigate the event planning landscape.
  • Awareness of copyright and privacy regulations relevant to marketing and communications.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Photography skills, including composition and editing.
  • Capacity to work independently while adhering to timelines and accountability standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and solve problems effectively.
  • Commitment to serving a diverse range of stakeholders.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Engagement in outdoor and indoor photography activities.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 10 kg.
