Director of Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Engineering to lead our manufacturing engineering team. This role will be based out of our production facility in Etobicoke and requires candidates to be on-site 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain the strategic vision for manufacturing engineering, aligning with company and department OKRs.
  2. Drive process optimization, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and quality.
  3. Conduct regular assessments, designing, and testing new equipment and systems for process improvement.
  4. Collaborate with SCM and engineering teams to identify suppliers, equipment, and materials.
  5. Oversee capital expenditure planning and budgeting for engineering and equipment components.
  6. Enhance engineering cost-effectiveness and implementation workflows, ensuring optimal line-layout, fixtures, and equipment.
  7. Manage financial reporting for equipment and engineering components, conducting deep-dives into manufacturing finances.
  8. Evaluate, purchase, and install equipment for Manufacturing and Warehouse locations.
  9. Lead a team of engineers and process specialists to drive operational excellence, innovation, and cost-reduction.
  10. Establish engineering KPIs to drive Continuous Improvement within the engineering process.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of experience as a senior leader in engineering, managing a team in manufacturing.
  2. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Designation is highly desirable.
  3. Strong background in finance and project management, with experience managing complex projects and CAPEX/OPEX budgets.
  4. Ability to work globally, in diverse work environments, including distribution centers, warehouses, production facilities, labs, offices, and retail.
