WestRock is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of health and safety within our workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by identifying, analyzing, and evaluating potential hazards and risks.
- Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry partners to stay up-to-date on the latest health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Provide training and education to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive health and safety program that includes emergency response planning, hazardous materials management, and employee training.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the paper and packaging industry.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Ability to travel to various locations as required.
