Kinesiologist - Community Health Initiative

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Kinesiologist to support a community-based health initiative focused on wellness and health programming. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other provider groups and services to offer programming and support to individuals with chronic diseases.
Reporting to the Provincial Chronic Disease Management and Wellness Health Services Lead, Primary Health Care, you will utilize behavior change methods and client-centered approaches to provide physical activity counselling and facilitate physical activity wellness programs. Your excellent leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment will be essential in developing, implementing, and evaluating physical activity programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing physical activity counselling and facilitating physical activity wellness programs
- Developing and implementing physical activity programs
- Collaborating with other provider groups and services to offer programming and support
- Working with individuals with chronic diseases to develop personalized wellness plans
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Kinesiologist with a strong background in physical activity programming and chronic disease management. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from an accredited university
- Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) designation
- One year of related experience working in a Primary Health Care setting or community-based team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
Hours and Compensation
This is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $35.28. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
