We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our unit's nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, ensuring that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Diagnose actual or potential problems and strengths, and develop and implement interventions to address these issues.
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to inform nursing care decisions, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Write accurate and timely reports of patient observations, including teaching and evaluation of nursing care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures.
- Act as an advocate for patients' rights and dignity, and promote a safe and respectful environment.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research, and contribute to the evaluation of patient care programs and outcomes.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of Critical Care Level 2 course plus one year's Cardiac Surgery experience or two years' recent experience in critical care in an acute care facility and one year recent Cardiac Surgery experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Basic Rescuer Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with others.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
