Position Overview

The **Resident Care Specialist** plays a vital role in delivering personalized support to individuals in a 24-hour care environment. This part-time role requires flexibility to work during weekdays and weekends across various shifts, including day, afternoon, and overnight hours. The primary focus is to assist residents with their daily activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere while promoting their independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplifying core values and essential competencies in caregiving
  • Providing assistance with daily living tasks
  • Ensuring the comfort and safety of residents
  • Monitoring and reporting on the health status of residents
  • Maintaining a hygienic and orderly environment
  • Upholding resident confidentiality at all times
  • Encouraging independence and offering informal support
  • Executing the individualized care plans for residents
Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent
  • Certification as a Personal Support Worker
  • Prior experience in a long-term care facility
  • Familiarity with mechanical lifting devices and personal care responsibilities

The **Municipality of Chatham-Kent** provides a part-time opportunity with additional benefits, including 15% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay. While COVID-19 vaccination is encouraged, it is not mandatory. A Vulnerable Sector Screening is necessary due to the responsibilities associated with this position.
