About the Role

As an Electrical Apprentice at Spark Power, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of experienced electricians and contributing to the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Electrical Work: Help journeymen and other employees with their tasks, contributing to the completion of electrical projects.
  • Develop Electrical Skills: Over time, increase your skills and take on more ownership of jobs, dependent on your abilities.
  • Visualize and Measure Work: Decide on the best methods for visualizing, measuring, and estimating work as appropriate for the job situation.
  • Manage Materials and Equipment: Decide when additional materials are needed and define and label wires, conduits, and apparatus to ensure safety.
  • Support Fellow Apprentices: Assist newer apprentices with orientation and learning, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Attend Meetings and Training: Participate in required meetings, safety meetings, and professional development sessions to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Maintain Equipment and Vehicles: Keep phone and barcode scanner charged and ready, and ensure trucks are stocked with proper tools and materials.
  • Load and Unload Equipment: Load materials, lifts, trailers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Ensure Work Order Accuracy: Maintain accurate work orders and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Perform Field Work and Installations: Conduct electrical installations and perform field work as required.
  • Perform Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain company vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Registration: Registered Electrical apprentice – Minimum level 1
  • Experience: Experience in industrial, commercial, and/or institutional electrical work
  • Attitude and Skills: Excellent attitude with a proactive, hardworking, and team-oriented personality; solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; reliable and committed to quality work and contributing to the team.
  • License and Certifications: Valid Drivers License with clear abstract; Electrical knowledge is an asset.
  • Personal Qualities: Positive and hardworking attitude with a desire to grow in your Electrical career; good numeracy skills; attention to detail and ability to meet specified deadlines.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all Health and Safety standards and practices; adhere to Spark Power's Covid 19 vaccination policy.
