About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our team at RONA inc. in Châteauguay, Quebec. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a propane or diesel gas counterbalanced-type forklift and/or reach truck to receive and load materials
  • Inspect prepared loads for accuracy and completeness, comparing loads to transfer requests
  • Perform routine maintenance on the forklift and its equipment to ensure compliance with RONA standards and applicable laws
  • Unload trucks and store products in storage areas, handling products as required
  • Provide excellent customer service to in-store pickup customers, adhering to SMART principles
  • Participate in department maintenance and work in accordance with company policies and procedures on health and safety and loss prevention
  • Help prepare orders and load trucks, assembling orders and identifying products from transfer requests
  • Operate the forklift infrequently to prepare transfers, transport material, load and unload vehicles
  • Complete the forklift inspection form and assist with general warehouse and yard maintenance
Requirements
  • Certificate for driving forklifts and a driver's licence
  • Ability to perform continuous physical work, including lifting weights of up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds)
  • Ability to work outdoors 80 to 100% of the time and tolerate extremes in temperature, inclement weather, dust, and intense noise
  • Manual skills to operate a forklift and RONA forklift license
  • Ability to identify different species and grades of material and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Cooperative approach and team player with good organizational skills and attention to detail
