Family Garden Foods Inc. is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to work in our meat processing department. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting and preparing meats for sale, as well as supervising other butchers and meat cutters.
Responsibilities- Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting
- Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters
- Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers
- Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat
- Wrap and package prepared meats
- Remove bones from meat
- Weigh meats for sale
- Cut poultry into parts
- Price meat products
- Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers
- Grind meats
- Prepare special orders
- Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
- Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a meat cutting or processing environment
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Ability to work on site and meet the physical demands of the job
