In this role, you will independently manage and sustain at least one process, equipment, or system in accordance with autonomous maintenance (AM) standards. Your technical expertise will be essential in enhancing line and/or system performance to fulfill operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a crucial role in transforming the snacking landscape. With guidance, you will operate and maintain machinery to achieve our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and morale goals. You will implement all standard operating procedures on your equipment utilizing AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and conducting quality assurance activities. You will identify and report losses in your area and equipment.

Additional Role Insights

Conduct maintenance and emergency repairs on oven systems in the processing area, demonstrating proven skills in brazing, welding, and pipe repairs in hot and humid conditions. Maintain, diagnose, and repair steam and chiller systems in a fast-paced environment. Perform safety inspections, lubricate, and make necessary repairs or adjustments on machinery as needed. Continuously monitor machines in operation to identify issues; exercise judgment in making necessary adjustments to uphold quality control standards. Flexibility and willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Interpret blueprints and operate machine shop equipment. Share inquiries, learnings, and best practices with fellow mechanics to enhance machine efficiency and reduce breakdowns and downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs. Collaborate with the Engineering department regarding machine modifications and the installation of new machinery and production systems. Work closely with operational colleagues to ensure high-quality products are produced while maintaining budgeted efficiencies. Knowledge of and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Participate in and support all safety programs, policies, and initiatives within the manufacturing facility. Understand and comply with food safety systems and procedures. Ensure all produced items meet GMP and food safety standards. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Steamfitter / Pipefitter License 307A or 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certification Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining steam and chiller systems preferred Proven experience in welding (Brazing, Stick, and MIG welding)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in hot and humid conditions exceeding 35 degrees Celsius for extended periods. Moderate physical effort required, including bending, lifting, and manual dexterity.

Work Environment

This position is situated in a food manufacturing setting. Common exposure to noise, raw materials, dust, and variable temperatures. Personal protective equipment is mandatory, including protective footwear, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety glasses as required. Initiative, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision. Capability to meet the physical demands of lifting and maneuvering heavy objects. Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and focus.
