Job Title: Lugger Truck Driver

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Lugger Truck Driver to transport lime waste from our client site to a designated location. As a Lugger Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a lugger truck, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, and ensuring the proper loading and unloading of mud waste.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a lugger truck to transport lime waste from Redpath Sugar to the designated location.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe transportation.
  • Experience with the specific requirements of handling lugger bins and lugger trailer to ensure proper loading and unloading of mud waste.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the lugger truck.
  • Communicate effectively with customer personnel and other team members to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Follow established procedures for handling lime waste, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), if required.
  • Ensure the lugger bins are securely fastened and positioned correctly on the truck and trailer.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or issues promptly to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any maintenance required.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • A clean Driving Abstract and CVOR.
  • AZ license, with minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Lugger experience preferred.
  • Must be experienced with manual transmission.
  • A thorough knowledge of safe driving procedures and traffic laws.
  • Previous experience driving around GTA and know the areas thoroughly.
