What is the opportunity?

As a member of the Global Functions Technology (GFT) within the Technology and Operations division at RBC, you will be integral to a team that provides IT solutions aimed at enhancing transformation and operational efficiency. Our collaborative initiatives encompass various sectors such as Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources, Chief Administrative Office, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. Joining our Finance IT Data Management team, you will be pivotal in facilitating Test Execution and Test Automation on our advanced Big Data Platform. This role entails working with state-of-the-art technologies and programming languages, including Cloudera, Spark, Scala, Unix, SQL, and Python, while utilizing DevOps Containerization applications.

Your main duty will be to assist the team in advancing Quality Engineering Automation for our varied client groups, alongside overseeing test execution. This position presents a unique opportunity to demonstrate and further hone your technical and architectural skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the overarching quality engineering strategy, responsible for developing and executing functional testing as well as implementing automation for the ecosystem/program.
  • Contribute to Quality Engineering initiatives and the overall QE Automation process and standards.
  • Be part of a high-performing, diverse team that leverages individual strengths and capabilities, ensuring adequate training and tools to meet objectives.
  • Follow and enhance defined processes and tools, aligning with the overall QE strategy and framework.
  • Provide accurate and detailed quality status updates to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Application Development Directors to integrate quality engineering principles within the DevOps framework/pipeline.

Qualifications for Success

Essential:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in various test automation tools (e.g., Robot Framework, Selenium, Jenkins).
  • Experience with Unix, Python (including Pandas and Pycharm), SQL, and Tableau.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data testing (HDFS, Hive, CDP), covering Data Ingestion, Enrichment, Aggregation, Lineage, Quality, Transformation, and Consumption using automated tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience in reviewing artifacts, including code reviews (application and test automation scripts).
  • Familiarity with SDLC, QE, and DevOps tools (e.g., JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCodeDeploy, qTest).
  • Practical knowledge and experience with Data masking technologies.
  • Experience in QA implementations using Agile methodologies.
