Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Java/Python Developer to join our team at Nexus Systems Group Inc. as a Backend Developer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Java and Python, with experience in working with shell scripts and Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements and implement solutions
  • Work with the infrastructure team to set up deployment for various development components
  • Diagnose technical issues related to infrastructure and scheduled processes
  • Support a large project with multiple initiatives
  • Develop and enhance existing projects, adding new features and refactoring existing code
Requirements
  • 8+ years' experience using Java
  • Recent hands-on experience with Python
  • 3+ years' experience working with shell scripts in a Linux environment
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
Preferred Skills
  • Apache Airflow experience is an asset
  • Experience with Counterparty and/or market risk is an asset
  • Experience using SQL
Soft Skills
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Team player and able to work with multiple developers
  • Understanding requirements shared by BAs and the business, and be able to communicate with other parties as needed
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
