Compounding Technician Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Compounding Technician to join our team at Deciem. As a key member of our compounding team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality and safety standards in the preparation of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process batches within specifications to meet department batch execution targets, ensuring optimal cycle time and schedule adherence.
  • Dismantle, clean, sanitize, and assemble processing equipment according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance and meet department changeover targets.
  • Compound various batches, including aqueous-based products, oil-in-water (O/W), water-in-oil (W/O), and anhydrous products, as per SOPs and Master Formulas.
  • Verify and dispense raw materials safely, ensuring accurate measurements and quality control.
  • Operate various equipment, including fully and semi-automatic kettles, pumps, agitators, hoists, and scales, performing calibration checks as required.
  • Collect representative samples of product batches and coordinate with the Research and Development (R&D) team to ensure the finished product meets the standard.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of batching kettles according to SOPs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and report any workplace injuries or accidents.
  • Complete documents, such as batch records, Cleaning and Sanitizing (C&S) logs, housekeeping logs, and other required documents, accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the compounding area, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and organized.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work while wearing a mask or respirator when needed.
  • Strong English communication skills and math skills (addition, subtraction, division, fractions).
  • Must be able to actively listen and receive coaching as required.
  • Individual will be required to learn and adhere to GMP compliance requirements.
  • Multitasking and ability to focus on executing priorities as directed by the area Supervisor.
  • Must be very detail-oriented and have working knowledge and understanding of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
