The Payroll Analyst is tasked with ensuring the precise and timely execution of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 5,200 staff members within the hospital and affiliated organizations, utilizing Meditech and API eScheduling systems. This role includes preparing monthly reports and managing the calculation and reconciliation of mandated remittances. The Payroll Analyst serves as a primary point of contact for both internal and external inquiries regarding payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for both unionized and non-unionized personnel, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and collective agreements.
- Handle employee expense reimbursement claims and other payments in line with company policies.
- Review and manage bi-weekly payroll adjustment requests.
- Generate audit reports for payroll processing.
- Prepare, reconcile, and remit monthly government remittances.
- Process and submit employment-related forms as necessary (e.g., Stats Canada reports, Records of Employment, WSIB claims).
- Act as a resource for internal departments concerning payroll inquiries.
- Participate in the development and testing of cross-functional workflows.
- Propose and implement process enhancements.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure compliance with payroll procedures.
- Calculate and process retroactive payments as needed.
- Provide training on payroll processes to organizational staff.
- Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and ad hoc reporting as assigned.

- Preferred PCP designation; candidates pursuing PCP may be considered.
- A diploma or university degree is required.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, complex, and high-volume work environment is essential.
- Experience in healthcare or with Meditech systems is advantageous.
- Technical proficiency with large ERP systems and intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel are necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and prioritize effectively in a dynamic setting.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proven ability to remain solution-oriented in challenging situations.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
- A satisfactory employment and attendance record is expected.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday – 7.5 hour days
Salary Range: $61,913 to $77,474 annually
