About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and committed educator to join our team at the University of Toronto as a Leadership Education Specialist - Program Developer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of engineering leadership programs that inspire students to see themselves as leaders and equip them for lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curricular and co-curricular programs and activities that promote leadership development among engineering students
- Facilitate educational workshops and seminars that foster leadership skills and confidence
- Design and oversee the implementation of evaluation frameworks for programs and initiatives to measure their effectiveness
- Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including student life staff, student leaders, and industry partners
- Train and coach student life staff and student leaders on leadership development and program delivery
- Develop strategies to maximize outreach to students, alumni, and other strategic partners to promote leadership development opportunities
- Conduct detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning and improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education, Psychology, or Organizational Development, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in curriculum and program design and delivery, with an emphasis on leadership development education
- Demonstrated group facilitation skills and excellent communication skills (listening, speaking, presenting, writing)
- Demonstrated ability to design experiential curriculum that prioritizes capacity building among students
- Ability to manage a diverse, challenging, and varying workload with multiple projects and deadlines
- Skill and sensitivity in working with diverse groups of people
- Enthusiastic self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative and good judgment
- Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a team environment
Assets:
- Masters degree in Adult Education, Leadership studies, Engineering education
- Experience working with engineers or other professional groups
