The Role

We are seeking an experienced Expert Model-Based Design Engineer to join our team for a client in the energy sector. The successful candidate will work on projects related to variable speed drives for three-phase asynchronous and synchronous motors, covering various market segments.

The role involves developing control systems, optimization, and signal processing technologies using Model-Based Design (MbD) approaches. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing control functions, protection, and supervision systems in accordance with specifications
  • Developing a new motor control law for a new type of motor (separately excited synchronous motor)
  • Delivering a technical feasibility analysis for existing solutions
  • Analyzing technical publications on motor control
  • Designing algorithms for dynamic control systems
  • Delivering technical specifications for implementation in new project offers
  • Implementing control algorithms in embedded software
  • Writing detailed specification documents
  • Developing source code
  • Performing unit, integration, and system testing
  • Supporting maintenance, adaptation, and evolution teams

Required Profile

We are looking for a graduate of a prestigious engineering school with significant experience (at least 2 years) in similar missions. The ideal candidate should be autonomous, organized, and have a proactive spirit.

Key competencies include:

  • Automotive/Control Systems Dynamics
  • Physical and Mathematical Modeling of Three-Phase Electric Motors (Asynchronous, PMSM, SynRM)
  • Simulation of control laws using Matlab/Simulink with a Model-Based Design (MBD) approach
  • Firmware: Implementation of control algorithms in C code or generation of code from Matlab/Simulink
  • Verification using Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and experimental testing
