Job Title: Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician to join our team at the Penticton Health Centre. This relief full-time position is available until the return of the incumbent.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician will provide individual and group counseling services to clients with moderate to severe substance use issues, with or without mental health concerns. This role will also involve outreach services and intermittent case management.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Adult Substance Use Counselling team to provide evidence-based treatment and clinical supports to clients. This position requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide group counseling services and support groups
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document client progress and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology)
  • Registration with a professional governing body (e.g., BC College of Social Workers)
  • Experience working with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
