Therapeutic Foster Care - Team Leader

Wood's Homes is a prominent not-for-profit mental health organization dedicated to enhancing the mental health and well-being of individuals within the community. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Therapeutic Foster Care Program as a full-time Team Leader.

Position Overview

The Team Leader will report directly to the Program Manager and will oversee the daily operational functions of the Therapeutic Foster Care unit. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services while adhering to the Health and Safety Management System standards at Wood's Homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the program, providing support to managers and staff as needed while sharing on-call responsibilities.
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate front-line staff, ensuring accurate monitoring of staff hours.
  • Handle case management in accordance with established policies, serving as the primary liaison with families and community services.
  • Conduct regular supervision and performance evaluations, and develop training programs for staff development.
  • Maintain financial accountability for program-related expenses and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Participate in meetings and case reviews to discuss client progress and program effectiveness.
  • Complete all necessary health and safety training and report any workplace hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Child Studies, or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience working with children, youth, and families.
  • Proven leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of milieu therapy principles.
  • Excellent critical thinking, clinical problem-solving, and writing skills.
  • Personal suitability for the role.
