About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team at SSB Enterprises Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and provide a durable finish.
  • Fabricate and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a touch of elegance to our projects.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to create a sturdy and secure structure.
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a stable installation.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to provide additional support and protection.
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs to create a strong and durable framework.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate measurements and installations.
  • Estimate costs and materials to ensure efficient project planning and execution.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe and accessible working conditions.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Repetitive tasks may be involved in this role.
  • Work under pressure to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Weight Handling
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) may be lifted or carried in this role.
Work Term and Language
  • Permanent position available.
  • Work Language: English required.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week expected.
