About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team at Ki Isu Sushi. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality sushi dishes to meet the expectations of our discerning customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Team Management: Manage kitchen operations, including supervising staff and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Assist with the immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and other essential services.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work Setting: Restaurant
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
