About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Manager to join our team at Robinhood. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of our data pipelines and datasets.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and data engineering, with experience in coaching and mentoring engineers. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects in record time, applying technical leadership and expertise to both your team and across engineering.

You will work closely with other engineering managers to refine and improve Robinhood's processes and systems for product development. Your ability to communicate effectively with other teams will be crucial in delivering on data pipelines that are well maintained and of high quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a core data model to house Product and Experimentation datasets
  • Build pipelines to integrate all data from product logging and compute metrics
  • Build aggregate datasets to easily surface key metrics and act as a source of truth
  • Coach and mentor Robinhood's talented engineers by giving them actionable feedback, setting clear goals, and coordinating project work with other teams and managers
  • Deliver high-quality, impactful projects in record time with thoughtful planning
  • Apply technical leadership and expertise to both your team and across engineering
  • Improve the ease of accessing insights from data within Robinhood by providing structured datasets and abstractions over core data
  • Work with other engineering managers to refine and improve Robinhood's processes and systems for product development
  • Communicate effectively with other teams to understand and deliver on data pipelines that are well maintained and are high quality
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or data engineer and 3+ years as a manager
  • Proven ability to coach engineers and interns on the team
