Job Summary:

Waste Connections of Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and repair garbage trucks, support vehicles, and post collection off-road equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections and complete related repairs to ensure vehicle uptime is maintained.
  • Maintain accurate work orders and parts charge-outs using an electronic work order system.
  • Complete all safety checks and record tire and brake measurements in the database.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Work independently and under the direction of senior mechanics and lead hands.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal License or 4th Year Apprenticeship for Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • 3-4 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment tests.
  • Full Class 5 driver's license.
