Job Summary

The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repairs of earthmoving and paving construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety policies and regulations are adhered to.
  • Read and interpret diagrams and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment and tools to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues.
  • Perform lubrication, servicing, and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol program.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
  • Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • Dual tickets will be considered an asset.
  • CVIP certification or willingness to obtain.
