Job DescriptionWe are seeking a BC Certified Teacher to join our team at Saplings Outdoor Program. As a teacher in our nature-based program, you will have the opportunity to work in a unique outdoor learning environment, spending most of your day teaching and learning in natural landscapes such as forests, stream banks, and parks.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the BC Curriculum and promotes child-centered, inquiry-based learning
- Participate in weekly meetings and collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement social-emotional development plans
- Conduct student assessments and develop plans to support student learning
- Work in a multi-aged classroom and develop relationships with students and colleagues
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
- BC Certified Teacher
- Clean Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience working with elementary school-aged students
- Applicants with experience working in an outdoor setting or in a multi-aged classroom preferred
- Competitive salary range of $55,000-$60,000
