About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Software Developer. Our Software Engineering team is responsible for designing and developing end-to-end real-time solutions for the public safety and security industries. This includes data interfacing, collection, aggregation, display, exploitation, and fusion functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement scalable, distributed software systems;
  2. Develop and integrate software modules and systems;
  3. Advocate high-quality software design and development practices;
  4. Interface development for various protocols, data formats, and logical connections;
  5. Collaborate with team members on system integration and validation;
  6. Participate in all aspects of the software development process, including planning, retrospectives, and demos;
  7. Meet assigned goals and deliverables to stakeholders and customers;

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field;
  2. Required to meet qualifications to obtain a Canadian Government security clearance;
  3. 3+ years of direct experience in software design, development, deployment, and verification;
  4. Experience with object-oriented design and multiple programming languages;
  5. Experience in developing and debugging high-performance software;
  6. Experience in distributed system design and multithreading/multiprocessing software development;
  7. Experience with databases, including SQL and document stores;
  8. Experience with source control and build tools;
  9. Knowledge of computer networking and operating systems;
  10. Experience with virtual machines, Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud platforms;
  11. Excellent problem analysis, evaluation, and resolution skills;
  12. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
  13. Passion for learning and solving complex problems;
  14. Strong communication skills;
  15. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with shell scripts and Python;
  2. Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript;
  3. Experience with creating software documentation and technical writing;
  4. Design diagram creation and knowledge of secure programming;
  5. Knowledge of cyber security best practices and concurrent applications;
  6. Experience with large dataset processing and analysis;
  7. Use or development of GIS software;
  8. Development of automated testing tools or defining test cases.
