About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team at Jonas Software UK. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructure solutions to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer overall infrastructure and technology solutions to meet business requirements
  • Develop and implement standards, operational runbooks, and project plans to ensure efficient and effective IT operations
  • Provide level III support and prioritize assigned tasks to ensure high availability and business continuity
  • Coordinate infrastructure-based activities, including design, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server configuration and performance issues, and develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner
  • Develop and test scripts to automate routine tasks and improve IT efficiency
  • Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to resolve technical problems and ensure seamless IT operations
  • Develop and maintain documentation and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructure solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies, Azure or AWS, Windows Server Environment, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS, Group Policy, and printing services
  • Process and operational knowledge of foundational technology, including automated software distribution, security patch management, backup tools, and server recovery
  • Scripting and automation skills, including Visual Basic, PowerShell, or Shell Script
  • Ability to engineer solutions for given SaaS and IaaS technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of storage technologies, such as SAN and Netapp
  • SQL Server and database knowledge, including MS SQL or MySQL
  • Apple/Mac technologies knowledge
