About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team at 1998391 Ontario Ltd. as a key member of our production team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Woodworking Machines: Safely operate a variety of woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Design Custom Cabinets: Prepare specifications for custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and meet customer requirements.
  • Shape and Finish Wood: Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files, and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Study Plans and Specifications: Carefully study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Assemble and Finish Products: Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units, and reinforce joints to ensure stability and durability.
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise and train other workers as needed to ensure efficient production and high-quality products.
  • Repair and Restyle Furniture: Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products to meet customer requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English or French.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
