Hybrid Work Model:
This role supports a purpose-driven approach with no strict company-wide requirements for in-office attendance. The in-office schedule is collaboratively determined among teams, with the IT team convening weekly on Wednesdays.

Role Overview:
As the Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Operations, you will be instrumental in managing the IT operations and platform engineering strategies within our organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will collaborate closely with fellow Directors across various IT sectors, including Software Development, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Program Management. Your primary focus will be to lead and oversee a diverse team, steering the transformation of our IT infrastructure towards a cloud and managed services model.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute platform engineering strategies aimed at transitioning from conventional IT operations to a cloud and managed services framework. The current distribution is approximately 60% hardware and 40% cloud/managed services, with an objective to evolve to 70% cloud/managed services and 30% hardware.
  2. Team Management: Guide and mentor a team of managers and individual contributors across various IT disciplines, including Application Support, Database Administration, System Operations, DevOps, and Network Operations.
  3. Operational Excellence: Maintain the critical nature of IT operations in a 24/7 environment while introducing innovative solutions to improve platform stability, performance, and scalability.
  4. Change Management: Lead effective change management initiatives to facilitate the ongoing evolution of the IT landscape within the organization.
  5. Collaboration: Partner closely with other Directors to align IT operations with broader business objectives and ensure seamless integration across all IT functions.
Industry Experience:
- Candidates with experience in the financial services sector, particularly within mid-sized banks, credit unions, or insurance firms, are preferred.

IT Operations Background:
- Significant experience in IT operations, especially in a 24/7 environment.
- Profound understanding of platform engineering strategies and the essential nature of IT operations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing personnel changes within an IT context.
