Job Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for executing on-site operations, which include the installation, maintenance, and repair of injection molding machinery, along with providing training to clients as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and rectifies issues with injection molding machines and robotic systems to ensure peak functionality.
  • Conducts safety inspections on machinery and instructs clients on correct operational procedures.
  • Addresses customer-related concerns, including parts replacement and troubleshooting control systems.
  • Trains fellow technicians and machine operators on maintenance practices and safe operational techniques.
  • Collaborates with support teams to troubleshoot field issues and submits regular updates to the Service Manager.

Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is mandatory.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of 5 years in troubleshooting injection molding systems or relevant field service experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and diagnosing various system components.
  • Comprehensive experience with injection molding equipment and proficiency across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Strong grasp of the injection molding process with a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor programming and the various materials utilized in the molding process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to manage challenging customer interactions with professionalism and tact.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive demeanor, capable of working autonomously and efficiently resolving customer challenges.
  • Experience with ENGEL machinery and robotic systems is a plus.
  • Effective use of internal resources for timely problem resolution.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal administrative support.
