Position OverviewUnder the general oversight of the Manager of Health Services, the Registered Nurse (RN) is tasked with delivering professional nursing services to patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health conditions. Responsibilities encompass independent nursing services, administering prescribed medical treatments, taking a leadership role within the healthcare team, and facilitating the coordination of patient care and discharge processes. The RN demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the organization.
Experience- Preferred current experience in Intensive Care.
- Required satisfactory employment record.
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing education program is required.
- Successful completion of the WCCNEP Program or an equivalent ICU training program is required.
- Must maintain and provide proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Active involvement in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
- Current BLS Health Care Provider certification is required.
- Provider Level ACLS certification is preferred (Instructor level is an asset).
- Knowledge of:
- Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses as outlined by the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
- Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
- Scope of practice as defined in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines of the organization.
- Nursing care knowledge relevant to the clinical area.
- Legislated acts such as the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS).
- Roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members.
- Principles of delegation.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates with proficiency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
