Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in nurturing and guiding young children through their formative years. Your expertise will contribute to creating a supportive and enriching environment that fosters growth and learning.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of College/CEGEP program
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year and less than 2 years in a similar role
Work Environment

This position is based in a child care center, where you will engage with children in various activities designed to promote their overall development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate children's progress to create personalized learning plans that cater to their individual needs.
  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Design and execute childcare programs that enhance physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills.
  • Maintain and organize daycare equipment to ensure a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Engage children through storytelling and interactive activities.
  • Oversee and mentor staff, trainees, or volunteers in daily operations.
  • Lead educational activities such as storytelling, singing, and excursions to local attractions.
  • Manage inventory by ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records as required by early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Complete administrative duties as needed.
Certifications and Memberships
  • Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification
  • Membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
Target Audience

Your primary focus will be on children, ensuring their well-being and development.

Experience with Special Needs

Experience working with children with:

  • Behavioral challenges
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
Health and Safety Requirements
  • Completion of a medical examination
  • Pass a tuberculosis test

Employment Details
