Climate Change Consultant

Are you passionate about creating sustainable communities and mitigating the effects of climate change? We're seeking a Climate Change Consultant to join our team at Urban Systems.

About the Role

As a Climate Change Consultant, you will play a key role in integrating climate change components into various projects and developing balanced solutions to promote proactive resilience, sustainability, conservation, biodiversity, and natural processes. You will work closely with our team of strategic climate change professionals to provide advice and support to clients, develop climate change adaptation plans, and incorporate climate resilience principles into community initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate engagement and workshops with community members and leadership teams to develop climate change adaptation plans and incorporate climate resilience principles into community initiatives.
  • Provide technical support for vulnerability and risk assessments and the development of resilience plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, community members, and internal project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging climate change assessment frameworks, tools, and data sources to provide the best possible advice and support to clients.
  • Be a champion for the environment and our team, promoting sustainable practices and climate resilience within and outside of Urban Systems.
Requirements

We're looking for a recent graduate with a B.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Science, or Environmental Science. Alternatively, we'll consider graduates from other degree programs with equivalent experience. Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset. Strong technical skills and a desire to grow knowledge in approaches to climate change resilience are essential.
