Electronics Design Lead
KNG Technical Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the electronics driving our medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Design and develop comprehensive digital and analog electronics, including power circuits, conforming to applicable IEC 60601 standards.
  • Maintain and update design documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
  • Design and develop prototypes for future features and products.
  • Plan and execute safety and performance testing to satisfy applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with embedded software developers on hardware/firmware integration and test engineering on verification activities.

Sustaining Support:

  • Maintain existing electronic designs to comply with the latest standards and address component obsolescence.
  • Support production and service teams by assisting with technical issues and establishing effective testing and test benches.
  • Prepare engineering change requests and change orders.
  • Participate in design review process.
  • Interface with partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to address technical issues and requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of practical experience in a regulated industry, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • 10+ years of experience with circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB design using ECAD tools.
  • Proven experience with debugging techniques for embedded systems using soldering and common electronics tools.
  • Experience with revision control systems.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of mixed-signal circuits and multi-layer PCB design.
  • Strong understanding of complex integrated electro-mechanical systems and embedded software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and ability to create maintainable designs.
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 62304 standards.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Drive to consistently achieve results and hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey a clear understanding of unique needs of different audiences.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-related environment with exposure to production work rooms when required.
  • Some local travel required.
  • Light lifting and bending.
