Executive Director

My Sea to Sky is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all operations, including program development, staff management, financial sustainability, grant writing, and board management.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the sound financial management of My Sea to Sky, including creating annual budgets and working closely with the bookkeeper and treasurer to maintain financial records and monitor performance.
- Lead all donor relations, including cultivating positive relationships with foundation funders, monthly donors, one-off donors, and major donors.
- Develop and oversee the effective planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of My Sea to Sky's operations, campaigns, and programs.
- Oversee staff management, development, training, and mentoring to ensure that the My Sea to Sky team are supported to achieve their full potential.
- Represent My Sea to Sky in social media and in print, radio, and television interviews, and public speaking engagements.
- Engage with decision-makers and elected officials to advocate for My Sea to Sky campaign and policy priorities.
- Engage with stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships and support the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives.
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Environmental Studies, Communications, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations or a related field).
- Experience working with a policy governance board.
- Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Proven success in collaborative leadership and staff & volunteer management, particularly managing a remote team.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization.
- Experience campaigning at a municipal, provincial, and federal level.
- Experience in strategic litigation/legal cases (asset).
- Background in marine conservation, environmental sustainability, public policy or a related field (asset).
