About the Opportunity:

As a key member of the global cloud services team and Enterprise Architecture team at WSP Canada, the Global Infrastructure Solutions Architect will be responsible for overseeing and governing the technical design and implementation of global and regional deployment of computing, storage, backup, and cloud solutions that align with global standards. In this role, the incumbent will work on several global and regional design and implementation projects, collaborating closely with third-party suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Propose IT Standards: Identify and propose specific IT standards, design strategies, and initiatives to align solutions with client and corporate objectives, as well as with industry best practices.
  2. Review and Analyze IT Infrastructure: Review and analyze current core IT infrastructure technology and its ability to support the company's strategic objectives.
  3. Translate Business Issues into Technical Requirements: Translate business issues/opportunities into technical solution requirements.
  4. Liaise with Suppliers: Liaise with third-party suppliers to coordinate and oversee deliverables and ensure compliance with global standards, architecture, processes, and procedures.
  5. Participate in Technical Governance: Participate in the technical governance and strategic planning of global infrastructure and operations in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture.
  6. Collaborate on Global Initiatives: Collaborate on global initiatives with geographically distributed team members.
  7. Develop Technical Design Documentation: Develop technical design documentation for new initiatives to support transition to operations.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  2. Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience.
  3. Supplier Management: Experience in managing multiple suppliers.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  5. Cloud Computing Experience: Experience in private or public cloud computing (Azure), infrastructure, IT infrastructure automation, advanced services, and service delivery, including extensive experience in several technology areas (storage/infrastructure/computing/virtualization/security/applications).
  6. Independence and Organization: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and organizational skills (prioritizing, meeting deadlines, managing multiple simultaneous projects).
  7. Documentation and Problem-Solving: Excellent documentation skills and analytical and diagnostic problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide solutions to identified problems.
  8. Communication: Ability to communicate issues in a simplified manner for end users at all levels.
  9. Safety Practices: Experience in applying best safety practices in the design and implementation of initiatives.
