This role reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is tasked with the accurate and timely receipt, preparation, and delivery of prescriptions. You will ensure sufficient inventory levels to meet patient requirements and provide counseling with proper documentation for all patients. The position also involves fostering a friendly, proactive relationship with both internal and external customers, while promoting awareness and education through community engagement. Additionally, you will oversee and mentor Pharmacy staff, ensuring the financial and operational success of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and guide Pharmacy personnel
- Manage the recruitment and performance evaluation of all Pharmacy staff
- Ensure the department's financial and operational success
- Adhere to OCP and Company Regulations, Policies, and Procedures in Pharmacy Operations
- Accurately prepare, dispense, and manage medications for patients
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements
- Provide friendly and proactive counseling to patients regarding medications
- Engage in public relations activities to educate customers (e.g., health days, clinics)
- Resolve patient needs and Prescriber requests in a timely and positive manner
- Review budgeted sales and net contributions
- Identify and report sales opportunities within the community
- Monitor and control costs across all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy
- Administer injections, conduct lab testing, and manage expanded prescribing practices (e.g., Minor Ailments)
- Participate in assigned meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacists license are required
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a retail Pharmacy setting
- Certification in Injection and CPR
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in people management with the ability to motivate and coach
- Exceptional customer service skills and a high level of professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to enhance business through community-based marketing
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with experience in developing and executing action plans
- Proficient in personal computing (MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word) and familiarity with Healthwatch Pharmacy Computer system is an asset
