Job Summary

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely to patients
  • Ensure medication and over the counter supplements inventory levels are adequate to meet patients' needs
  • Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive interaction
  • Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.)
  • Administer Vaccinations and other activities as legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program (Point-of-Care testing, Prescription Modification and Advancement, Minor Ailments, etc.)
  • Provide Pharmaceutical Professional Services such as Medication Reviews
  • Provide timely and positive resolution to patient's needs and Doctor's requests/issues
  • Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)
  • Provide ongoing training for all new and existing Pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, assistants, students, IPG's)

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy, and a Class A Pharmacists license a must (Membership in good standing with no cautions or previous findings)
  • 0-2 years work experience
  • Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism
  • Excellent leadership and performance management skills required
  • Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the experience formulating and executing action plans
  • Strong personal computing skills, as well as knowledge of HealthWatch Pharmacy Computer system a definite asset
