About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to join our team at Verily, a subsidiary of Alphabet. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development life cycle and ensuring seamless execution of our technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of 8-10 software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Drive project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute on the team's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and make critical decisions to meet project milestones and deliverables.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience of a team of at least 15 software engineers.
  • Proven experience managing software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong expertise in software development methodologies and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
