About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Design Organization in Western Canada. As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary design team working on a broad range of electrical aspects for multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of detailed design drawing packages for projects of varying scale
  • Completion of electrical design calculations, including load demand, voltage drop, cable ampacity, and other relevant factors
  • Assisting with preparation of contract documentation, including equipment specifications, cable/conduit schedules, installation specifications, and other relevant documents
  • Support during tendering and construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, evaluating electrical reports, and completing site inspections
  • Coordination of electrical system designs with other engineering disciplines, vendors, and outside design team members
  • Ensuring compliance with Canadian electrical codes and standards, relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Delegation and mentorship of junior staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence or ability to achieve within 6 months of starting date
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and a positive attitude
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for completed work
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of Canadian electrical codes and standards, relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Experience coordinating with multi-discipline projects and using EasyPower or ETAP software for power systems studies are considered assets
